August 8, 2000

Omni Enterprise Corp., a Taiwan producer of stationery products and accessories, recently announced that it has set up a new production facility in Vietnam. The new plant began operation in June of this year and is currently capable of turning out 1.15 million units monthly.

The new factory will help fulfill the company's high export demands from Southeast Asia, the Middle East and South America, commented Shien Shih, assistant manager of Omni's stationery export department. The stationery products from the new factory will be in the mid-to-low price range, he added. Omni already utilizes three other factories in Taipei, Shanghai and Bangkok, which produce various items such as correction tapes and fluids, paper products and retractable pens.

Omni Enterprise was founded in 1974 as an affiliate of the Bensia Group, the first company to produce and patent the Non-Sharpening Pencil. Using the trademark name "Bensia," Omni exports stationery products to 90 countries around the world. In addition to the production of stationery items, Omni also handles the import of raw materials and manages Bensia Products' Europe Division.
